Students who are dedicated to dance and who are interested in taking their training to the next level as well as opening up many more performance opportunities throughout the year are invited to participate in our TEAM classes.

Enrolling in the TEAM stream means that all classes listed in the timetable in your age group are available to be enrolled in (including all of the FUN stream classes).

Choosing the TEAM stream at HDF does mean that you must attend a minimum of 3 classes per week. These classes must include at least 1 technical class (either a Ballet or Technique class). The exception to this is if you choose to enrol in a Lyrical TEAM, you will need to attend a Ballet class to meet the technical requirements.

Performance Opportunities.

At The Hills Dance Factory, our Team students have numerous opportunities to showcase their talents through performances at Eisteddfods, school fetes and local festivals, gaining invaluable experience that enhances their growth as dancers.

Each year culminates in our highly anticipated Annual Concert, held in December at a professional theatre. This event allows all students to perform for family and friends, showcasing their hard work and achievements with professional lighting, sound, and first-rate costumes. The concert is a highlight of our calendar and a testament to the dedication and creativity of our students and staff.

These experiences, both on stage and behind the scenes, create unforgettable memories for our dancers and their families.

Being part of a TEAM requires dedication — not just on performance days but throughout the entire year. We ask our TEAM students to limit absences to no more than two per term.

Of course, we understand that illnesses or family emergencies can happen. However, the strength of any group comes from having the full team present at rehearsals and events. By committing to the TEAM, you’re making a promise to yourself and your fellow dancers to give your best effort consistently.

Class Requirements.

Joining the TEAM stream means attending at least three classes per week, including at least one technical class (Ballet or Technique). If you’re joining a Lyrical TEAM, a Ballet class is required to meet the technical standards.

Students who fall below the minimum requirements during the year will need to step back from the TEAM class.

For MINI MOVER Jazz TEAM students, the weekly requirement is two classes, which can be any combination from the timetable alongside the Jazz TEAM class.

Costumes.

TEAM costumes are designed to make our groups shine on stage! These are custom-fitted and carefully selected to ensure the best presentation for competitions and performances. While they are a bigger investment than costumes for other classes, they are yours to keep (unless specified otherwise) and can be used throughout the year.

Here’s what to expect:

Troupe costumes typically range between $80 – $150.
Classical tutus (when needed) cost between $300 – $400, with an option to purchase second-hand if available. These are usually ordered in Term 1.
Satin ballet shoes with ribbons are also required for Classical Troupe dancers.

Costume invoices will be included in your Term 1 monthly invoices to ensure timely orders for competitions. Please keep track of all costume pieces, as any lost items (like headpieces) will need to be replaced by the dancer.
